A cost box that multiplies square footage by a single price is not a calculation of your floor. The quantities that decide an epoxy floor, how much material, how much preparation and how long the room is out of use, can be worked out from the slab, and working them out is what this site does.
What it is
A set of eleven tools, each deriving one quantity that decides part of a resinous flooring job: the coating system and its film thickness, the gallons and kits that thickness represents, the surface profile that film needs and which preparation method can reach it, the moisture verdict, the repair volumes, the cure schedule at your slab temperature, a reading of the federal silica table for floor grinders, an installed cost built from those quantities, and a checklist for reading a quote.
They run in your browser. There is no account, no login, no saved project and no server that sees what you type.
Who publishes it
Nathan Management, in California, publishes this epoxy floor site. Andrew Flores writes it, with AI assistance used for drafting and checking; how that works, and who answers corrections, is set out under Who writes this on the editorial policy.
We are not coating contractors, we are not engineers, and we have no relationship with any resin manufacturer, distributor or installer. Nothing on this site is a referral and no outbound link earns anything.
What would make this worth trusting
Not our word for it. Three checkable things:
- The methodology page publishes each of the 23 registered constants with its source, the words or table cells it came from and the date the copy was saved, generated from the same data the calculators use, plus the allowances built into the calculators.
- The figures we could not source honestly are listed as refusals with the reasoning, rather than quietly filled with plausible numbers.
- The arithmetic is written out on the pages that use it, so you can check a result by hand rather than taking it.
What it cannot do
- It cannot see your slab. Everything derived here rests on measurements and observations you supply, and a wrong input produces a confident wrong answer.
- It cannot substitute for a product data sheet. Where manufacturer data governs — moisture limits, cure windows, chemical resistance — the tool asks for their number rather than supplying one.
- It cannot tell you what a job should cost in your area, and the reasoning for that refusal is on the methodology page.
- It cannot tell you whether a particular contractor is any good.
How it changes
A corrected figure is changed where the figure is stored, so the pages that display it change together, and the correction is entered in the update log on the methodology page. The date at the foot of each page is the date its content last changed.
