The tools transmit nothing

Every calculator here computes in your browser. The slab dimensions, the volume solids off your data sheet, the moisture reading, the crack measurements, the quote figures you type into the comparison — none of it is transmitted, none of it is stored on a server, and none of it reaches us.

In practice that means your inputs are invisible to us. Writing about a specific result means pasting the inputs into the message, since nothing on our side has recorded them.

Nor is anything written to local storage or to a cookie. Reload a page and its tool goes back to the defaults published here.

What gets collected

There is no account to create, and none is offered. There is no login, no newsletter, and no form on this site that submits anything to a server.

Requesting a page produces the ordinary sort of web server log entry that any site produces. Those typically include the requested address, a timestamp, a referring page where one exists, and a user-agent string. They are used to keep the site running and to see which pages are read.

An email you send is kept for as long as it takes to answer it, and it is added to no list.

Cookies, analytics and tracking

No cookie is set by this build, and no analytics script, tag manager or advertising code runs on it. There is nothing to opt out of because nothing is running.

No advertising code runs on this site today. If this site is approved for Google AdSense, Google AdSense will serve advertisements on it, and this policy's advertising section will be updated in the same deploy that adds any advertising code.

If Google AdSense is approved and enabled, third-party vendors including Google may use cookies to serve and measure ads, including ads based on a visitor's prior visits to this site or other sites where consent permits personalization.

Visitors can control personalized Google advertising at https://adssettings.google.com and can review industry opt-out choices at https://www.aboutads.info. Those Google-operated controls exist independently of this site and work whether or not this site shows ads.

No third-party script loads on any page. The stylesheet and the small calculator bundle are served from the same domain as the page, and there are no embedded fonts, maps, videos or widgets from anywhere else.

Advertising status

Nothing is advertised here today, and no page in this build fetches an advertising or consent-management script.

If advertising is introduced, the code and this policy change in the same deployment. This section will then describe what is actually running — which advertising partner, what data that involves, and how to exercise the choices available — before any ad script is served to anybody. Advertising that is not running will never be described here as though it were, and advertising that is running will never be left out.

Pages here link to source documents, mostly federal agency pages and standards bodies, so you can check our quotes against the original. Once you follow one of those links you are on a site with its own policy, which we neither control nor can see into.

Children under 13

These are tools for planning building work and they are not aimed at children. Nothing is knowingly gathered here from anyone under the age of 13.

Changes to this policy

A revised policy is published on this page, and when it is, the review date printed at the foot of every page moves with it. A material change to what is collected or what runs on the page is made in the same deployment as the change itself, never before it and never after.
