Contact and corrections
Corrections are welcome and genuinely useful, particularly on the arithmetic and on the sourcing. This site publishes its constants in the open precisely so they can be checked, and a reader who finds an error is doing work we would otherwise have to do ourselves.
Reporting an error
The most actionable correction names the page, the figure and what it should be. If you can point at a primary source we could cite, better still — several constants here are labelled as assumptions only because we could not find a document we were able to quote, and we would rather they were sourced.
Write to corrections@epoxyfloorcostcalculator.com. A correction that changes a published figure is made in the data module, which means the methodology page updates with it automatically.
The corrections we would most like to receive
- A retrievable published source for any figure currently labelled as an assumption — particularly the preparation productivity rates and the broadcast media rates.
- A manufacturer build sheet that contradicts our film-thickness banding for a given service condition.
- Any arithmetic error, however small. The coverage constant propagates into every quantity on the site, so an error there is not a rounding matter.
- A place where the wording implies more certainty than the underlying figure supports.
What we cannot help with
- We cannot tell you what a coated floor should cost where you live. That is the one question deliberately declined, and the reasoning is on the methodology page.
- We cannot diagnose a specific floor remotely. A coating that is lifting can be a moisture problem, a preparation problem, a product problem or a temperature problem, and telling them apart needs somebody standing on it.
- We cannot tell you whether your product will resist a particular chemical. Take your actual chemical list to the manufacturer, who tests for exactly that.
- We do not recommend contractors and we hold no referral arrangements of any kind.
Where your message goes
A message you send is read in order to answer it, and for nothing else. It is not added to a mailing list, not sold and not shared. Site-wide handling of information is set out in the privacy policy.
Note that the calculators send nothing anywhere — they run in your browser. If you want us to look at a specific result, include the inputs in your message, because we have no way of seeing what you entered.
